America is polarized over gun control. During these times inevitably the 2nd Amendment comes up, some arguing that it is out dated because living in the times that it was written is not the same as the times we are living in now. People also like to argue the fact that we don't need certain weapons for "hunting", even though the 2nd Amendment never mentions hunting. Then they will say that we have a "military" so again the 2nd Amendment is outdated, and I have to correct them and let them know "military" is not the "militia", that they are two entirely different entities. Why does all this matter, you ask, and what does it all mean when innocent children are getting shot up in our schools? The answer is easy, one has nothing to do with the other. The solution to bad people killing other people is not to abolish the only freedom we have to actually prevent that from happening, talk about ironic, or should I say moronic? In 2014, just a short 4 years ago, Americans had to exercise their 2nd Amendment Rights to defend their State's Land Rights from none other than the U.S. Government (Sounds like a text book example of America Militia standing up to Tyranny). Whether you agree with their cause or not the fact remains Americans and their militia were in a stand off against armed Federal Agents, and because of this the Feds backed down, and in the end the Americans involved Won, not only on the battle field but in Court as well. This is not just a Win for gun ownership (other than hunting rifles) as a means of defense but also a win for American's forming peaceful Militia's in order to shape political policy. This is a prime example of why we the American people need to keep our second Amendment Rights so we can defend all of our other rights, even your right to Free Speech to criticize this article. Lastly, not that I should even have to bring it up, but some of you are still arguing the point that the 2nd Amendment is outdated because it was only intended for muskets and could not foresee all the new weaponry that would be developed. This argument is so ridiculous I almost did not even bring it up, but the fact that we are exercising our free speech on a platform not conceived when the 1st Amendment was written kind of washes that argument down the drain, but beyond that the fact remains even during that time period existed weapons other than muskets of rapid fire like the one featured below called the Puckle. No our Founding Fathers knew all to well about real tyranny, that is why they penned in the 2nd Amendment and that is why we will defend it, because it is the ONLY Amendment that allows us to Defend all others, as well as the Constitution, without the 2nd Amendment we are defenseless in every sense and meaning of the word. So, how do we protect our kids from violent shooters? Again the answer is simple, how do we defend any one from violent shooters? With guns.
Are our Government Buildings not protected with armed guards? What about the White House? What about your bank? What about the convenience store clerk, you think they are armed? Why do Stars have armed body guards? Why is it that everything that we deem as important is protected with guns except the one we cherish above all others, our children, with them we protect them with . . . . Oh, that's right instead of defending our national treasure (the kids) lets remove the one right that can actually protect our children the 2nd Amendment, the irony.
