I had just completed Thor's 88, not the music, that I had completed even longer before, but all the post production stuff that leads ultimately to it's release as I personally did all the graphics and videos as I always do, . . . so end the end I was relieved to be done and ready to relax for a month or two before beginning or the pianoforte composing for Shadhavar as well as for the Legend of Iztacciuatl, two pianoforte pieces I had written stories for while post producing Thor's 88.
That is when fate entered the picture and not only would it change mine but so many others lives within the course of roughly 4 to 6 hours. Life as we knew it had forever changed and there was nothing we could do about it, and we could never go back to the world we lived in before. This was no shared hallucination, nor is this a figment of my imagination, this was what everyone called Hurricane Michael. If you guys are interested in what it was like to live through Hurricane Michael and more importantly it's aftermath then leave me a comet and I will do another article or possible video for that, but for this I want to stick to the Origins of Avastar. The word Avastar I had been using for over 30 years and actually created artwork for way back in the day never knowing it would become a piano forte vocal duet album. So, the storm was as I stated earlier over within 4 to 6 hours, it was a breeze (pun intended), but the aftermath was and to this day still is brutal. Lets just say that within the month plus of not having any power at all, meaning no modern conveniences, internet, tv, radio etc . . . completely off the grid, as it was literally wiped the "explicative" out. The one thing I did have though was my pianoforte, old and out of tune, . . . some keys even sticky or not working, but it worked, it played music and it was magical. I played like I had never played before, not as a pianist in the true classical playing style but I played, I played funny, weird cool, explicative!!! I was playing all this new weird cool stuff and I never had any intention on playing anything like it and it did not fit the musical direction of the other projects I had going on at the time . . . but it was fun!!! I bought some batteries for my zoom mixer and decide to start recording some of these musical outburst. Each track on the album is an improv piano forte piece, the vocals are written and sung to conform to the music already recorded, so no edits, no redos and no extra takes, what you hear is what was recorded as an original take, hence the name "Original Rock Star"
